Continuing Excellence
The San Benito High School District is dedicated to fostering academic, social and emotional success for every student. The impact of our commitment can be seen through the recognitions our programs have earned over the years:

U.S News and World Report Best High School
From 2019 to 2024, Hollister High School has been ranked as a "Best High School" by U.S. News and World Report. This recognition identifies the nation's top-performing public high schools, measuring how well schools serve students from different social and economic backgrounds.

California Green Ribbon Schools
San Benito High School District is one of 14 school districts in the state to have earned a 2024 California Green Ribbon Schools award. This is the second consecutive year the district has earned the recognition for environmental stewardship and educational practices. SBHSD's environmental initiatives include drought-resistant plantings, campus recycling programs, bioswales to capture storm runoff and solar panels on campus. In partnership with Climatec and PG&E, the San Benito High School District expects to realize savings of more than $14 million over a 20-year period.

National Unified Champion School
Hollister High School has earned the National Unified Champion School recognition from the Special Olympics in recognition of a wide array of programs that give students with disabilities the opportunity to participate in athletic activities and events. Unified Sports soccer and basketball teams compete in front of their peers during lunchtime games, and the Unified Cheer team stands alongside the Baler Cheer squad during games and pep rallies. In addition, Unified Program, coordinated by the Associated Student Body and Circle of Friends, brings together students with and without disabilities in a celebratory and social atmosphere.
