Academic Services Resources
Short-Term Independent Study Program
The Short-Term Independent Study is an educational alternative for students who are required to miss no less than three (3) and no more than fourteen (14) school days due to travel or temporary relocation.
To enroll:
1. Contact the Short-Term Independent Study Program Office at (831) 637-5831 ext. 1168.

Please submit your Short Term Independent Study Request using the form provided. This request does not guarantee approval and is not an official application. Completion of this form does not mean you are on an independent study plan. Requests require at least 7 school days’ notice before the student’s last day on campus, not including 24 hours to process this form.
2. A parent, the student, and the Short-Term Independent Study Coordinator sign an
agreement.
3. The coordinator requests homework from each teacher.
4. The student will report to the Short-Term Independent Study Coordinator prior to
attending class on their first day back on campus to turn in completed work.
5. Short-Term Independent Study Agreements are not allowed during the first ten (10) days of the school year, and must be completed prior to the last 20 days of the school year (i.e., Wednesday, May 8, 2026.)
Adult Education Program

- Registration is open and ongoing and classes are free.
- Enrollment is open to persons 18 and older, as well as parenting teens. Your last completed high school transcript is required to enroll.
- All core subjects and limited elective choices are offered.
- In-person registration can be done online in Room 523 at Hollister High School on Sept. 3 and 5 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Classes will be conducted in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. from September through May.
