The Office of Academics and Instructional Programs provides leadership for curriculum and instruction, all categorical and special programs, alternative programs and district-­level plans. The office provides leadership, oversight and compliance monitoring for the following areas:

Short-Term and Extended Independent Study

Short-Term & Extended Independent Study (STIS/EX-STIS) is
an educational alternative for students who are required to miss at least three
(3) school days due to a temporary, non-medical related instance which conflicts
with in-person instruction.

Please use this link to submit your REQUEST.

This request does not guarantee approval and is not an
official application. Completion of this form does not mean you are on an
independent study plan.

Requirements:    
At least 7 school days’ notice before the
student’s last day on campus.

Student may not have more than two (2) F’s on posted
grades.

Student may not have any truancy letters for the
current school year.

STIS is not allowed during the first ten (10) days of the
school year, and must be completed prior to the last 20 days of the school year
(Wednesday, May 8, 2026.)
