English Learners
English learners in the San Benito High School District are placed appropriately in English Language Arts and English Language Development (ELD) courses based on English proficiency level. The goal for all English Learners is to develop the language skills necessary to actively participate in all classes. Daily after school tutorials are offered in Room 175.
Co-Teaching and Inclusion
San Benito HSD’s inclusive co-teaching program staffs classrooms with two equally-qualified individuals with diverse expertise in delivering instruction. One co-teacher is a subject matter expert, while one has expertise supporting English language learners. The program has improved the pass rates, graduation rates and achievement levels of all students who participate in co-taught classrooms.
